I put some movies on both a 16gb USB flash drive and a 32gb SD card formatted to FAT32 to test it out. However, despite them being in supported formats (MP4) the unit doesn't seem to see past the first file. Do i need a firmware updated, and if so how would I go about installing it?

First. You can download the video to your USB or SD to test ,you also can put some MP3 and photos into your device ,whether there will list the files.
Second.Plug USB flash drive to the end or pull out a bit appropriately.
Third.if the player recognize the device, press the this button on remote control, then it will back to the list.

Follow up: I figured it out - when converting video to play from either the SD card or Flash Drive, the format must be mp4 in addition to the file name needs a “.mp4” behind the name (I.e movie.mp4)
