Very slow to start playing sometimes

Hello.
I have a Naviskauto Portable DVD player, model PD01-14001B that I purchased less than a year ago. Starting a month or two ago, I started having problems with the machine playing DVDs. I turn it on and it will say loading, but it won't actually start to play. Sometimes it *will* play if I wait 2-3 minutes, sometimes it doesn't play at all, sometimes it plays just fine. It's inconsistent.
Also, it sounds like there is something loose inside the machine. Maybe a small screw? I noticed that one of the screws under the screen came off on its own. (I never attempted to take it apart.)
Do I need a replacement or is there something I can do to fix this?
